Millions of children are engaged in child labour and the spotlight on this social cause is integral. This day helps bring worldwide focus on this issue and initiate a stronger dialogue regarding the solutions that need to be implemented. To help stop child labour, an earnest intent, constant efforts, and collective actions are required. Many people come together to highlight the plight of underprivileged children and put in the efforts to eliminate it. The plight of child labourers is sad in India, even more so due to the pandemic. Several street children live on the streets that are vulnerable and dark, with no roof over their heads, nowhere to sleep, and no basic facilities. Children on the streets are deprived of basic resources like quality healthcare, basic education or schooling, and a safe shelter. They are far from a hot and nutritious meal. From working as labourers in factories to rag-picking and digging through trash at dumping grounds, street children somehow get by on a daily basis. Many underprivileged children also work odd jobs or as porters to be able to earn some quick bucks to get a few regular meals. Life is very difficult for a street and working child and that is the reason why we need to throw light on days like World Day Against Child Labour.
