SBT’s continuous mission is to save orphaned and abandoned children living on the streets from their distressful and impoverished lives and provide them with shelter, food, education and overall a healthy life with a better future.   3. capable of pursuing a career of their choice. Salaam Baalak Trust has mainly four departments through which it conducts its operations. They are summarized as follows: Resident Homes and Centres – 18 Salaam Baalak Trust centres that includes 13 Contact Points and 5 shelter homes are present in and around Delhi. Contact points are like day centres and are usually located around crowded places and exit points like railway stations. They strive to find and identify the stray children and take them under their SBT’s wing. The teams of SBT at these contact points treat the children with warmth and care, They often organize medical check-ups and treatments if required and try to reunite them with their families if there is a possibility. Medical Facilities – The street children grow up in filthy, unhygienic conditions where they are prone to various infections and diseases. They do not understand the significance of sanitation or maintaining personal hygiene. SBT conducts regular medical camps for the children at their premises.   4. any time. Tetanus and Hepatitis-B vaccinations are regularly provided to the children. Education and Social Exposure – SBT gives high priority to the education of its children. They use different educational programs as means to impart the requisite education. Their vision is to ensure that every child grows up to be conscientious, knowledgeable and a responsible self-aware citizen. Recreation and Training – SBT children are always encouraged to think creatively and develop an inquisitive mind. The children indulge in various arts and recreational programs such as photography, theatre, dance, pottery, music, martial arts among others. These activities and sessions help the children to develop a sense of self-confidence and a positive mindset, which are important attributes needed to shape their future.
