  1. A GUIDE TO ALL TYPES OF FLANGES - BY SAINI FLANGE PVT LTD

  2. Overview The flange is a method of connecting two pipes, valves, pumps & other equipment in order to form a perfect piping system. Also, it provides an easy access for cleaning, modification & inspection. From automotive flanges manufacturers to customize flanges exporters, a wide range of flanges is available in India. They are generally welded or screwed.   The most used types of flanges are according to ASME B16.5 are the welding neck, slip-on, socket weld & lap joint, threaded & blind flanges. In this PDF, we are providing you complete description of each flange type with complete details. SAINIFLANGE

  3. Welding Neck Flange It is easy to recognize at the long tapered hub, generally, it goes gradually over to wall thickness of a pipe or fitting. It provides an important reinforcement for different usage in different applications involving high pressure & elevated temperature. From flange thickness, the wall thickness may be affected by the taper that is extremely beneficial. SLIDE 04 SAINIFLANGE

  4. SLIP-ON FLANGE Under internal pressure, the strength is in the order of two-thirds of that of welding neck flanges. Plus, their life under fatigue is about 1/3 that of the latter. The disadvantage of this type of flange is that the principle is always a pipe must be welded then just a fitting. Space is mandatory in slip-on flange during the welding process.Under internal pressure, the strength is in the order of two-thirds of that of welding neck flanges. Plus, their life under fatigue is about 1/3 that of the latter. The disadvantage of this type of flange is that the principle is always a pipe must be welded then just a fitting. Space is mandatory in slip-on flange during the welding process.

  5. Socket Weld Flange These were initially developed for use on small in size high pressure. The static strength is equal to slip-on flanges, but their fatigue strength 50% greater than double welded slip-on flanges. The purpose of the flange is to reduce the residual stress at the root of the weld, which could occur while solidification of weld material. The disadvantage of this flange is right the gap. The crack between the pipe & flange can give corrosion issues.  SAINIFLANGE

  6. Lap Joint Flange THEY ALL HAVE COMMON DIMENSIONS, HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT HAVE A RAISED FACE AS THEY USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH A LAP JOINT FLANGE. THEIR PRESSURE- HOLDING ABILITY IS LESS. IF THERE IS ANY OTHER BETTER OPTION, THEN SLIP-ON FLANGES & FATIGUE LIFE FOR ASSEMBLY IS 1/10TH THAT OF WELDING NECK FLANGE.  LAUREN HILL SLIDE 02

  7. STUB END It will be used with a lap joint flange as a back welding flange. The connections are applied in Blind Flange low-pressure & non-critical applications. It will be used with a lap joint flange as a back welding flange. The connections are applied in low- pressure & non-critical applications. They are manufactured by one of the THREADED FLANGE best flange manufacturers in India They are used in special circumstances with without a bore & it is used to blank off main advantage that can be attached to the pipe the ends of the piping, valves & pressure without welding. It is generally not suitable for a openings. From the standpoint of pipe system with thin wall thickness, due to the internal pressure & bolt loading, blind fact that cutting thread on a pipe is not flanges are in bigger size, are the most possible. They are used in special circumstances highly stressed flange types.  with main advantage that can be attached to the pipe without welding. It is generally not suitable for a pipe system with thin wall thickness, due to the fact. SLIDE 06 LAUREN HILL
