  3. Order of Operation • Excel formula follows the same order of operations as mathetics. • Use parentheses to change the order. • 2 + 3 * 2  8 • (2 + 3) * 2  10

  4. Example • 1 + 3 * 3 / 4.5 * ( 3 – 1 ) • 1 + 3 * 3 / 4.5 * 2 • 1 + 9 / 4.5 * 2 • 1 + 2 * 2 • 1 + 4 • 5
