  1. How the Shipping Process Works in Dubai, Step-By-Step The shipping process of delivery works in the UAE is a relatively simple, straightforward process that can be applied to all cargo or special deliveries. Different rules and regulations govern the procedures below, but these are usually set by the federal authorities or different departments in your emirate-level government.

  2. Here are some of the steps in the shipping process: Importer requests quotes and orders goods • Once an importer has decided to export their products, they will request quotes fromaninternational shipping company in Dubai. • This includes international and local freight forwarder companies and shipping lines offering door-to-door services. • The importer will then evaluate the quotes they receive, choose one that meets their requirements and place an order with them accordingly. • Once the supplier has decided to ship to Dubai, they must prepare some documents before contacting a shipping company.

  3. The documents that need to be prepared by the supplier include: Proof of Ownership This is usually indicated on the invoice. It should be accompanied by a copy of the bill of lading or airway bill.

  4. Bill of Lading • The carrier issued this document and contained all relevant information about your shipment. • It includes information such as weight, dimensions, contents, and value.

  5. Commercial Invoice • This is an official receipt for goods that have been purchased from you by another party. • It includes details like quantity and price per unit.

  6. Certificate of Origin • This document states that your goods were manufactured in a particular place (usually your country). • If you export from China, this certificate can be obtained from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in your city or province (or even online).

  7. Packing List • This lists all items being shipped out with their corresponding quantity and weight. • It also indicates whether they are fragile or not so that they can be handled appropriately during transit.

  8. Custom declarations forms  • These forms identify whether any hazardous items are being shipped with your order, affecting how it’s taxed by customs officials when it reaches its destination country. • Custom declarations forms are usually included with your original shipping documents. • Still, they can be downloaded from various websites if you need them sent separately from your order – make sure they’re not expired!

  9. Insurance certificate(s) • All shipments leaving Dubai must have insurance coverage for loss or damage during transit (even if you’re shipping airfreight). • Your supplier should provide this certificate free of charge and all other shipping.

  10. Freight forwarder arranges vessel. • Theinternational relocation moving company in Dubai will then arrange for a suitable vessel or freight carrier to transport the goods from your warehouse in Dubai to another destination worldwide. • They may also advise on any additional charges that may be incurred depending on what route you choose (e.g., airfreight costs more than sea freight) and ensure everything is arranged as quickly as possible so as not to delay your shipment any longer than necessary.

  11. Booking of freight • Booking freight includes several steps: preparing your shipment, choosing the type of transport that suits your needs best, and booking the cargo space on an air or sea carrier. • This includes booking space for vehicles like trucks, vans, etc., and cargo like boxes, crates, furniture items, and other items that need to be moved from one place to another.

  12. Goods to travel to international depot/port • Your goods will be sent to the port in Dubai, where they will be loaded onto a container and shipped on board a vessel. • The port has its own customs warehouses, where your cargo is stored until it’s time for shipping. • The time between arriving at the port and shipping depends on how long it takes for your goods to clear customs.

  13. Goods processed through export customs clearance and placed in transit • After your shipment has been cleared by the relevant authorities and deemed safe to export, it will be released for delivery. • This can take place via either air or sea freight. • In some cases, goods may need to be inspected by customs officials to clear them for export. • The goods are now ready to be shipped out of the country and their destination.

  14. Delivery within your country • Once customs have cleared your goods by international cargo services Dubai, they can be delivered to you within your country. • In some cases, you may have to pick up your items from a distribution centre or airport yourself; this depends on how much time has passed since they were shipped from overseas. • And how far away from the airport they are being held at the time of delivery.
