  2. Ever heard pigeons described as being ‘rats with wings’? Often found close to busy city centers searching for food, pigeons tend to congregate in large numbers close to food sources such as garbage bins, and as a result, are frequently likened to rats and other rodents that most city dwellers consider as pests. However, whether you think pigeons are akin to rats, or not, there’s plenty of evidence showing that having them close to your home, can cause a whole host of problems. From harmful and corrosive droppings to noise pollution and damage to property, having pigeons close to your home can be a real cause for concern, and here’s why:

Sweeping your balcony regularly, keeping it clean and free from items pigeons might want to build a nest on, is a great idea, but it isn’t a long-term solution and won’t prevent pigeons from calling in on occasion.
