It was a funny story. Saki is the pen name of H HMonro. Do you know the names of the character in “The Open Window?” One character is FramtonNuttel, who, on the advise of his doctors, goes to the country to rest. While he is at the home of Mrs. Sappletonframton meets a young lady. Mrs. Sappleton’s niece is a self possessed young lady. You may wonder said the niece why we keep that window wide open on an October afternoon. The niece tells Framton a outlandish story. As I read the story, I felt like I was actually in Mrs. Sappleton’s home. The end of the story was real hilarious. Week 10 (Oct 19-23) 3. Write the story… (at least a 5 sentence response)

Writers who create dramas are often called playwrites. Drama began in the theaters of ancient greece. Choral performances began in the 600’s B C and those performances honored the god Dionysus. Thespis was one of the first actors and dramatists in Ancient Greece. The term thespian, which means “actor”, comes from Thespis name. Drama flourished in ancient Greece in the B.C. 400’s. Contests were held: on a yearly basis to determine which comedies and tragedies are the best. The ancient Greeks presented their dramas outdoors, using large amphitheaters. The Theater of Dionysus in Athens Greece held about 14000 people. Week 11 (Nov 9-13) 3. Write the story… (at least a 5 sentence response)

The list of characters in the play include the following Antigone, Ismene, Eurydice, Creon, and Haimon. Antigone give readers alot of information about burial customs in ancient Greece. What I want to say is that I have no doubt but that I will enjoy reading the play. Creon is King of Thebes. He is Antigone’s uncle. He is also Ismene’s uncle. Creon’s first words in Antigone are, “Gentlemen: I have the honor to inform you that” Yes Antigone broke the law when she buryed her brother. I definitely think Antigone is simply the most courageous character in literature! I finished reading Antigone at exactly 9:00 last night. When I arrived at school I couldn’t hardly wait discuss the play. Week 12 (Nov 16-20) 3. Write the story… (at least a 5 sentence response)

These events took place in forty-four B.C. The cast of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar includes senators, tribunes, servants, and it also includes friends of Brutus and Cassius. Brutus and Cassius they conspire to assassinate Julius Caesar. Shakespeares work includes many well known sayings. Beware the ides of march is from The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. A public place is the setting. Scene ii of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. In this scene, Caesar enters with his wife; her and Caesar were accompanied by other characters. Dad did you read The Tragedy of Julius Caesar when you were in High School? Do you think Shakespeares’s comedies are more easier to read than his tragedies? Week 13 (Nov 30-Dec 4) 3. Relating his memories, readers get an idea of what Christmas was like in Wales. One christmas, Mr.sProthero’s dining room caught fire. The room was ablaze. Thomas rushed to eagerly throw snowballs onto the fire. Thomas describes the Useless Presents like they were the best presents of all. The other presents were thinks like mittens galoshes and hats. I think Winter in Wales must be very beautiful. Just imagine the white snow-covered mountains and the cold icy sea. There is a lot of snow on the mountains. Thomas’s words bring vivid images to mind, “The silent one-clouded heavens…” Thomas’s language is not only complex. It is also real beautiful. The holiday honors old, traditional African practices and new, modern African American ideals. In Mexico, the nine days before Christmas are called posadas. During this nine days, Mexicans feast, celebrate, and they also reenact parts of the Christmas story. Hanukkah- that is the Jewish Festival of Lights- is celebrated around the world. And a menorah with nine candles are lit during the holiday. Vietnamese people once celebrated all birthdays on what is New Year’s Day. Today they celebrate a 2nd birthday. The day they were born. My friend from China tells me that “Chinese New Year is an important and joyful celebration.” The Chinese serve special holiday foods and they hold a big parade. Week 15 (Dec 14-18) 3.
