  3. #1 I’ve learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

  4. #2 I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

  5. #3 I’ve learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you’ll miss them when they’re gone from your life.

  6. #4 I’ve learned that making a “living” is not the same thing as making a “life.”

  7. #5 I’ve learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

  8. #6 I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.

  9. #7 I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

  14. #12 I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

  15. Your task: Create a 12-sentence PowerPoint slide show that emulates Maya Angelou’s style BUT argues what is important in YOUR life . . . what have YOU learned? Use personal/textual/world pictures on EACH slide that creates an argument about your life– about what YOU believe in. Put the PowerPoint on a timer, giving your audience enough time to read the text and the visuals. Then, compile the 12 sentences on ONE slide with a montage of “best” pictures to print/turn in at the end of class on Wednesday/Thursday. Save your project on a flashdrive and be prepared to present this project to the class after the holiday break.
