  4. WhySeminar? • Utilizes reading, writing, listening, speaking and thinking skills • Creates a collaborative learning community • Encourages values and social skills • Connects to Common Core

  6. Facilitator: Pre-Seminar • Set a purpose • Content and behavior goals • Choose a text • Triangulation of text • Prepare the Seminar • Questioning • Think ahead to extensions • Rubrics

  7. Facilitator: During Seminar • Teacher introduction • Model behaviors • Define student roles • Student Discussion • Lead discussion • Refocus students • Keep discussion moving • Keep track of students’ participation
