The error notice indicates that the user's computer's program is configured to allow shared access to the company file; yet, QuickBooks software fails to communicate with the company file for some reason.

Solutions to rectify QuickBooks can't communicate to the company file Solution 1: Firewall Configuration • Find the start option. • In the search box, type Windows Firewall. • The firewall window will be displayed. • You must now select the Advanced Settings button. • Following that, the user must right-click on the inbound rules and select the new rule. • Find the port choice and then press the Next button. • After that, the user must ensure that TCP is selected. • Moving on, fill up the specific local ports field with the ports required for the QuickBooks year edition. • The next step is to click the Next button after entering the port number. • Check that you have decided to allow the connection and then re-click on the Next option. • If prompted, confirm that you have marked all of the profiles. • When finished, click the Next button. • After that, click Create a Rule and then give it a name. • Select the Finish option.
