  4. What is the definition of weight? A planet’s gravitational pull on an object. This gives the object weight.

  5. What is mass? Mass is the amount of matter that an object contains.

  6. How does gravity make a scale work? Gravity pulls an object down and a scale measures the pull.

  7. How does Earth keep us on the ground? Earth’s gravity pulls us toward the center of the planet.
