  2. India is a country known for diversity, and this fact makes it interesting to the tourists. Similarly, the Indian Rummy game is available at rummy websites in various formats, to maintain the enthusiasm of card buffs and never let drudgery get the better of them. Would like to know what these forms are and how they differ? The primary variations of the game are Points Rummy, Deals Rummy and Pool Rummy. Being the offspring of rummy, all of them are essentially about card melding. As such, the principal rules are more or less the same for all of them, but there is a difference in the ways they are played.

  3. It is also known as 80 Points Rummy and is played on 2 and 6 player tables. It is the most basic version and the most popular one too. As the name suggests, it is played for points. • Points have a pre-decided value in rupees, which generally lies in the range of 10p per point to Rs 125 per point. A session of Points Rummy would take only a few minutes. It is liked by the beginners and experts alike.

  4. In this format, all the players collect or ‘pool in’ money which is finally given to the winner. It further has two versions – 101 and 201. The player, who reaches this value, is eliminated from the game. • This is the winner, and receives the ‘pool money’. We can say that it is like playing Points Rummy multiple times, till all the players- except one, get knocked out as they touch 101 or 201 points, depending on the version. The game continues for the longest duration and as such, entertainment and thrill also multiply.

  5. It is for those players who like to play for a fixed number of deals rummy. It is akin to playing Points Rummy for a pre decided number of times. There is a concept of chips and entry fee mostly ranges from Rs 25 to Rs 1500. • An equal number of chips are allotted to each player in the beginning. When the deal is over, the losing player surrenders his chips to the winner. The player who collects the highest number of chips is the overall winner.

  6. Rummy, the card game of skills, has a number of variants. This ensures that you never get bored, as you can always switch from one version to another according to your mood. While Rummy Rules remain almost the same for all the different forms of the game, the fun quotient does vary. • Points Rummy is the quickest, followed by Deals Rummy and finally Pool Rummy. If you are in a hurry or are a novice player, go for Points Rummy. For a little more extended enjoyment, Deals Rummy is advisable. And if you want prolonged adrenaline rush, Pool Rummy is your calling. Happy Playing!
