Quality Improvement • All fellows participate in a QI project during the categorical fellowship training • Personal QI project • Class fellowship project • Heart Institute QI project • Fellowship QI curriculum • 6 classes throughout year to learn basics of QI (key drivers, PDSA, reliability science, understanding variation, sustainability and spread), project development, mentorship, address obstacles, publication

  4. Research • Research Blitz • Held in August to facilitate fellows identifying research projects and mentors • Faculty present research projects in 5 min slots • List of faculty research projects • HIRC – Heart Institute Research Core • HIRC review assists in scope, feasibility, cost etc

  5. Research • SOC – Scholarship Oversight Committee • Heart Institute (HI) Research Day • Clinical Fellows • Basic Science Fellows • HI financial support for presentations at National Meetings • Masters program support
