  1. It’s Day #3 Already!!! Please find your seat, and get your NAME TENT OUT!! Take one of the green papers from the folder at your table. This is my class syllabus, and it’s important that you become familiar with everything on it. You have approximately five minutes to look over the course syllabus – THEN it’s QUIZ Time!  Have a pencil a piece of paper handy.

  3. Let’s organize our Supplies! Social Studies Binder: Tab 1 – Warm Ups Tab 2 – Current Unit Tab 3 – Paper Tab 4 – Miscellaneous (Misc.) This is where you should keep your class syllabus! Note: If you don’t keep a separate binder for Social Studies…

If you are absent, you are expected to… • Complete the assignment you missed, even if you don’t understand it. • Check Mrs. Dyer’s website to see what you missed so you know what to ask about when you return. • Bring Mrs. Dyer a gift when you return. • Call Mrs. Dyer at home, preferably after midnight, to ask her what the homework was.

  8. Mrs. Dyer’s Website Start on the MPMS website. Click on the Academics tab at the top of the page, then 8th Grade. Click on Social Studies Team on the left side of the page, then click on Mary Dyer. You can also just go to www.dyermpms.weebly.com

Bathroom Procedure: ONE person at a time If it’s during independent work time, just take the pass and go If I find that this isn’t working for an individual, or even an entire class, we’ll change the procedure for that person or class. If you’re going to be sick – get my attention and GO – grab the trash can on your way out if needed.

  24. Homework Take the welcome letter and class syllabus home, and share them with a parent. Return the bottom half of the welcome letter (signed by a parent) tomorrow. Keep the syllabus in your Social Studies binder for future reference! Your “All About Me” poster is due Friday!
