Executive Branch Elected Officers • Governor • Qualifications • Must be a U.S. Citizen for at least 15 years • Qualified voter of the state • Lived in Missouri for the last 10 years • At least 30 years old • Term • Four year term • May only serve two terms • Can be recalled through special election of the voters Jay Nixon

Executive Branch Elected Officers • Attorney General Qualifications • Must be an attorney and live in Jefferson City • Serves a four year term maximum two terms • Duties • Chief law enforcement officer of the state • States legal counsel • Provide legal and criminal investigation services for state • Provide legal representation for the state in civil cases • Advise state officers, departments and agencies of legal rights/responsibilities • Provide Governor, Legislature and other officials with legal opinions
