  3. “Pros and Cons” Solution 1 (TFC team view): • Each ROB is responsible for its own set of FE in terms of TFC and ECS • One bidirectional link per ROB • A control unit controls/monitors logically the ROB and its set of FEs together – “ system slice approach” • Configuration and monitoring bandwidth  speed! • Multi controls PC and ECS interface hierarchy • TFC and ECS relayed by “TFC made” TFC/ECS multiplexer block in ROB Solution 2 • A single additional interface board is responsible for all FE in terms of TFC and ECS • Alternatively configured ROB? • All bidirectional links for all FE on one board • All configuration and monitoring through one ECS interface • Bandwidth bottleneck • Less logical handling of FE and ROBs • Single control PC and ECS interface “hierarchy” • TFC and ECS relayed by “TFC made” TFC/ECS multiplexer with ECS de-multiplexing/multiplexing block AoB: need a listofdesiredcommands / resetsfromsubdetectors
