  1. Agriculture Day The fourth graders celebrated Agriculture Day on May 7, 2003 teacher Mr. Johnson taught them about Agriculture.

  2. In The Beginning • The fourth graders picked the groups • Second they picked their subjects • Third they wrote a paragraph and made the projects and farm scenes • Next brought our farm scenes to school • Last we set up in the elementary gym

  3. Getting Ready – Group Project • Formed Groups • Choose Topic • Made Board • Get Equipment • Get Facts • Show Poster Board

  4. What Topic Did Everyone Do? Crops Fish Hatchery Vet Animals Dairy Farming Showing Animals Farm Machinery Poultry Maple Syrup

  5. Figuring out information Jeremy, Jessica and I are figuring out information about farm equipment. We were looking for pictures of equipment.

  6. Getting Setup • First we got put in our groups • Then we had to pick a topic • We researched our topic in books and on the internet. • The next thing we did was make a display board about our topic. • Then we had to bring down our farm scenes and our display boards.

  7. Here it is, The Big Day • May 7 was a very fun filled day. • I think that this was a great experience for all of us. • We also got ice cream.

  8. The Big Day is Here! • The fourth grade showed their individual and group projects • We pointed out facts and games to the little kids and the teachers too • We showed what equipment is used in agriculture

  9. The First Thing The Kids saw • When the kids came in they saw was Fish farming by Marissa, Laurie,Will, and Josh. • They had a game of “Spin the Wheel and Win Gold Fish” • Kids really liked that board.

  10. FAME Channel 18 news came and interviewed some students to be on the 6:00 news . Also Ann Hansen came and interviewed for the Country Today

  11. Group Projects • My group did maple syrup, but there was many other groups from mink farming to fish. • There were 18 groups in all and they all had their own subject

  12. During Ag Day • During this time we were trying to get people to stop and learn something. • There were games and questions to answer. • Kids stopped to play our games and win prizes.

  13. Second Part Of The Day • The second part of the day was from after lunch to 3:00 • The second graders and the parents were the only ones left.

  14. Field Crops Every group had different subject. The hardest thing to do was the first class .The easiest part was picking up.

  16. Showing Animals • We had two bunnies to demonstrate showing animals at the fair. • Their names where sparky and Oreo. • Oreo is the one in the picture.

  17. Be a Farm Safety Person • Here you would learn about farm safety and how to be safe around a farm. • This group also had a word search , a word find and many other fun things to do.

  18. You have to know the farm tools by heart. We had to help out group members. Train the kids Man the station when the other members were gone. Working The Bases

  19. Who Helped? • The FFA students helped with our Ag Day. They helped by serving ice cream to all the people that went through the gym.
