UH Transfer Students • 30,452 undergraduates • 51% transfer • 3400 new FTICS every year, 6000 new transfers • 60% baccalaureate degrees go to transfers • 20% of transfers come from four-year institutions • 80% of transfers come from two-year institutions • 30% from Houston Community College • 21% from Lone Star Community College • 9% from San Jacinto Community College • 40% other

Achieving the Dream Initial Findings • Students who transfer as upperclassmen are 5 times more likely to remain at UH for a year than students transferring as underclassmen. • Students who are not freshmen at the time of transfer are 11 times more likely to remain at UH for a year than students who transfer as freshmen. • 90% of the students who earned 19 or more hours the first year came back for the second year.
