  2. What is a practical nurse? • Licensed practical are nursing professionals who work under the direct supervision of doctors and registered nurses.

  3. What does a practical nurse do ? • take patients temperatures • check pulses • give injections • collect patient’s health information • help give patients baths • test a patient’s blood sugar levels

  4. What are some educational requirements to become a LPN? • high school diploma or at least a General Education Diploma (GED) • associate degrees or bachelor's degrees in nursing • Classes in • Anatomy • Lifespan development • Microbiology • Pharmacology • Physiology • Psychology

  5. Take a state approved training programs that are offered by: • the hospitals • vocational schools • junior colleges • private schools • Pass the NCLEX exam

  6. Other Requirements • Be 18 years of age • Hold a high school diploma or a GED • Be able to pass a drug test • Pass a criminal background check • Complete a training program • Obtain a license
