  2. Adjectivos/Adjectives • Just like in English, an adjective in Spanish is used to describe a noun. • The long road (Long is the adjective because it describes the noun road.) • The tired waitress (Tired describes how the waitress is feeling.)

  3. Adjectivos/Adjectives • In Spanish, adjectives must agree in gender and in number with the nouns they are describing: • Ex. The serious girl La niñaseria The crazy boys Los niños locos A crazy dog Un perro loco

  4. Adjectivos/Adjectives • Adjectives also usually follow the noun they are describing (which is opposite from English): • Ex. El libroaburrido (The boring book)

  5. Adjectivos/Adjectives • When a noun is nueter, the article and/or the adjective will give you a clue as to the gender of the word. • El estudianteintelligente (The intelligent, male student) • La estudianteintelligente (The intelligent, female student)

  6. Adjectivos/Adjectives • Your assignment for today: Write the following adjectives in English in your notebooks. Then translate them into Spanish. Keep them in your notebooks for a super quick reference. When you finish, please come see me and I will stamp your notebook and give you a grade.
