  1. Project: IEEE P802.15 Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) Submission Title:[QoS for PAC networks] Date Submitted: [March 20th, 2014] Source:[Jeongseok Yu, Woongsoo Na, HyoungchelBae, Taejin Kim, Yunseong Lee, Juho Lee, ZeynepVatandas, Sungrae Cho, and JunbeomHur] Company [Chung-Ang University, Korea] E-Mail:[jsyu@uclab.re.kr, wsna@uclab.re.kr, hcbae@uclab.re.kr, tjkim@uclab.re.kr, yslee@uclab.re.kr, jhlee@uclab.re.kr, zvatandas@uclab.re.kr, srcho@cau.ac.kr, jbhur@cau.ac.kr] Re:[] Abstract:[] Purpose:[To provide materials for discussion in 802.15.8 TG] Notice: This document has been prepared to assist the IEEE P802.15. 2. QoS (Quality of Service) Jeongseok Yu et al., Chung-Ang University

  3. This document is for QoS of the PAC • 6.6. QoS (In TGD) • IEEE 802.15.8 shall support prioritized services including emergency services with highest priority, various QoS classes, enabling an optimal matching of service, application and protocol requirements to resources and radio characteristics. • Definition of the QoS. • The purpose of classification QoS level for PAC. • We classify the QoS level for PAC in terms of PAC applications which is referred in application matrix. Purpose of This Document Jeongseok Yu et al., Chung-Ang University

  4. QoS • Quality of service (QoS) is the overall performance of a telephony or computer network, particularly the performance seen by the users of the network. • To quantitatively measure quality of service several related aspects of the network service are often considered, such as error rates, bandwidth, throughput, transmission delay, availability, jitter, etc. Definition of the QoS Jeongseok Yu et al., Chung-Ang University

  5. QoS • Quality of service is particularly important for the transport of traffic with special requirements. • In particular, much technology has been developed to allow computer networks to become as useful as telephone networks for audio conversations, as well as supporting new applications with even stricter service demands. Definition of the QoS Jeongseok Yu et al., Chung-Ang University

  6. QoS dimensions • Data rate, Delay, Error Rate, others • QoS of PAC • Each PAC application requires different data traffic • Different adequate bandwidth may be requested by each application • Especially emergency data need much reliability QoS Level for PAC Jeongseok Yu et al., Chung-Ang University

  7. Service Classes & Characteristics for PAC Applications Jeongseok Yu et al., Chung-Ang University
