    2. Definition of a Linear Equation in Standard Form An equation that can be written in the form: Ax + By = C. Where A,B, and C are real numbers.

    3. Rules for Standard Form The lead coefficient or “A” needs to be positive, if it is negative multiply through by -1. Standard Form does not have fractions or decimals, to remove fractions multiply each term by the least common multiple.

    4. Definition Linear expressions may contain one or two variables with no variable having an exponent other than 1.
