Challenges to Event Planners • Funding • Site selection • Working with vendors (hotel, AV, IT, transportation, etc) • Engaging speakers, developing the program • Managing the website • Wrangling posters • Applying for ACPE credits • Bugging presenters for materials • Managing registration • Developing print materials • Providing VANTs access for those unable to attend (and dealing with time zones!)

  4. Maintaining flexibility to deal with last minute crises! • Registration cancellations • Speaker Cancellations • VANTs Issues • IT support problems • Materials not delivered on time • Medical emergencies
