  1. Chemical Reactionsby Daisy P

  2. Synthesis Barium + Phosphorous make Barium Phosphide Ba(s) + P(s) 

  3. Synthesis Barium + Phosphorous make Barium Phosphide 3Ba(s) + 2P(s)  Ba3P2(s) Two or more smaller reactants become one larger product

  4. Decomposition Water decomposes to… H2O(g) 

  5. Decomposition Water decomposes to Hydrogen and Oxygen 2H2O(g)  2H2(g) +O2(s)

  6. Single Replacement Write the balanced chemical reaction for the Zinc being put into Copper II Chloride.

  7. Single Replacement Zinc + Copper II Chloride  Zinc Chloride + Copper II Zn + CuCl2(AQ) ZnCl2(AQ) + Cu The Zinc replaces the copper in solution, bumping the copper out of solution. The Chloride ion is the spectator ion.

  8. Double Replacement Write the balanced chemical reaction for Sodium Chloride being put into Silver Nitrate.

  9. Double Replacement Sodium Chloride + Silver Nitrate  Sodium Nitrate + Silver Chloride NaCl(AQ) + AgNO3(AQ)  NaNO3(AQ) + AgCl(S) Two aqueous solutions combine and make a different aqueous solution and a solid.

  10. Closure So this is my power point, obviously. I could go on and tell you what my favorite part was but its too early in the morning… well never mind we’ve got time. My favorite part was coming up with a double replacement chemical reaction.
