  4. A rectangle is a quadrilateral with 4 right angles. Thm: If a parallelogram is a rectangle, then the diagonals are congruent. Properties of a Rectangle: • Opposite sides are ≅ and || • Opposite ∠s are ≅ • Consecutive ∠s are supplementary • Diagonals are ≅ and bisect each other • All four ∠s are right ∠s

  5. Th: If the diagonals of a parallelogram are congruent, then the parallelogram is a rectangle.

  6. A rhombus is a quadrilateral with all 4 sides congruent. Thm: The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular. Thm: The converse is also true: If the diagonals of a parallelogram are perpendicular, then the parallelogram is a rhombus. If BD⊥AC, then □ABCD is a rhombus.

  7. Thm: Each diagonal of a rhombus bisects a pair of opposite angles. If a quadrilateral is both a rhombus and a rectangle, it is a square. A square is a quadrilateral with four right angles and four congruent sides.
