McNair Scholars Program • If you’re considering graduate studies and are: • A first-generation and low-income student OR • a member of an underrepresented group • Have a CGPA of 3.0 or higher • A full-time WVU undergraduate student • A US citizen or permanent resident • please visit the McNair Office at 109B Student Services • Center or call 293-4316. • Download application form from www.wvu.edu/~mcnair.

Summer classes • WVU • Sign-up with Fall 2011 classes • List on Trial Registration Form • Other institutions • Complete Transient Form with advisor or at Residential Advising • D/F repeats can only be taken at WVU or our regional campuses-Potomac State and WVU Institute of Technology (Not at another institution). Can complete Transient form with Residential Advisors!

  6. D/F repeat policy • Any course in which you earn a D or F until and including the semester in which you complete 60 GPA hours can be repeated at a WVU school until graduation. (GPA hours include all courses with any grade.) • The original hours and grade will no longer affect your GPA. • The second attempt is the grade that counts (for better or worse) • Suggested: D/F repeat a sequential class before progressing. • Take BIOL 115 and earn a passing grade before taking BIOL 117. • If you have the Promise Scholarship and D/F repeat a course, you may need to take summer classes.

  9. More registration tips • Must earn a C or higher to advance in MATH • Math 121 DOES NOT lead to any other math course • Math 121 IS NOT equivalent to math workshop • Do not take it until you are sure of your major • Where are you with math? Math.wvu.edu

  10. Sophomore advising appointments • Upperclassmen attend 30- minute, individual advising appointments • Make your appointment by phone or in person • Schedule early in the semester so you can register on your priority date • Check in with the front desk 5 minutes before your appointment

  14. Select Registration Stay at this screen, while we show you the process to register for classes.

  16. Select the correct term: Fall 2011 or Summer 2011 Spring 2011 if dropping a class

  17. Select “Dropped on Web” and hit “Submit Changes” if you want to drop a course by the drop date. Print a copy for your records. Put the CRN #s in the boxes below. 67890 12345

  20. Go back to the STUDENT RECORDS PAGE Hit the BACKSPACE key on your keyboard OR the BACK button on your screen
