  3. Resources • Computer & Printer • Team Record Sheet; 1 per team & Clip Board (Optional) • Art Materials: crayons, markers, paints, and choice of paper for class book • Popsicle sticks with students’ names • Pencils

  4. Introduction Oh no! While studying Community Helpers, your crazy teacher seems to have lost the text books! Can you help by finding information about the roles of the community helpers in our neighborhood? Enter if you are up to the challenge!

Task • Your mission is to locate information about the role of a certain community helper. • You will work together in teams of two at one computer. • The Secretary will record information as you research. • The Researcher will investigate the links in the WebQuest to find information about your community helper. • Both team members will then be an Artist. You will create a drawing of the community helper. You will work together to write three sentences about your drawings.

Process • Your teacher will assign you to teams of two using the popsicle sticks. • You will work in your teams to discover information about that specific community helper in the webquest. • After you finish your research, you will use your research to create a page for our Community Helpers class book so that we may ALL discover more about community helpers. • Click on the correct link to follow your assignment. Secretary • Click Here to Print your team’s record sheet. • Help your partner to correctly navigate the websites to locate the important information about your community helper. • Write down the details on your team’s record sheet. • When you are finished researching with your team mate, continue on to the artist portion.

You may use crayons, markers, or paints. • Use the paper your teacher has chosen to use for the class book. • Create an illustration of your community helper for our class book. • Work as a team to decide the important details about your community helper to use for your caption. • Remember to do your best work!
