  4. Design and Labeling Easy Site Surveys

  5. Layout Validator's methodology begins with Plan-UmTM, a custom made job building program for residential and commercial systems. Installers can now design a completely wired home or multi-floor MDU with all the outlets and wire types needed. Wires can even be customized.

  6. Layout As you design, Plan-Um builds the cable test schedule. Just download the job to Validator and the installer has everything he (or she) needs for certifying the system.

  7. Printing Labels • Plan-Um can export to Excel. Any label printer that interfaces with Excel may be used for printing wire labels, wall plate labels and patch panel labels. • Labelers include; • Rhino • Dymo • Brother P-Touch series

TIA 568/570 Test • TIA Wire Test includes: • 8 pair mapping for Shorts, Opens, Splits, Miswires, and Reverses • Cable length • Distance to fault using both TDR and Capacitance Link • Propagation delay, NEXT, Return Loss, Attenuation and Amplitude are tested with SNR measurements (Noise is the Gigabit Killer) • Skew, tests signal time delay between pairs for Gigabit use

  10. IEEE 802.3 Test • IEEE Test includes: • A ‘BERT’ or The Bit Error Rate Test A BERT test sends 985 bi-directional data packets down specified cable runs at defined rates and quantities. Random code data is generated and checked for errors at maximum throughput of the link in full duplex. A Bit Error Rate Test (BERT) test is done only after the wire passes the TIA test..

  11. Certify ValidatorTM shows PASS or FAIL and moves to the next cable to be tested. Even qualifies for VoIP. Results are easily read in the field so nothing is missed.

  12. RESP Graph An optional RESP test may be performed. This test will graph out the NEXT, Channel and Attn results.

  13. Troubleshooting If there is a ‘Fail’, checking the results will tell you what the problem is. The TDR will give you distance to the problem.

  15. Document Test information on the flash card is transferred to the computer. Plan-Um updates the length and test results. Plan-Um automatically creates a detailed cable test result. From start to finish, Validator is designed to make every installer more efficient, professional and profitable.
