  4. 1.000 Tables at Rio+20 The Global Context We will engage society in a Global Dialogue at Stockholm+40 Conference in April. The outcomes will be communicated to global leaders and also taken to Rio+20. 1.000 Tables Dialogue will be held during Rio +20 UN Conference in Brazil (June 2012), engaging 10.000 people. 5. Global Dialogues are happening in different parts of the world between now, Rio+20 and beyond. Global Dialogues bring to life local aspirations by engaging and empowering all levels of society in envisioning and co-creating the future that we want. The Local Context Burundi

  6. What a Global Dialogue looks like and can create…. The Local Context

  7. How it all started…. In November 2011, some individuals came together to explore the questions: “How can we awaken a global sense of responsibility for the future that we want? How can we inspire people to become planetary stewards for our collective wellbeing?” By connecting to other people, a realization came that there were many other people exploring the same questions. As a result, the project One future…. One Planet was born.

  8. ONE FUTURE… One PLANET Project Pillars connect Envision engage reflect share A Unifying Framework Concept that creates a common language for sustainable development Global Dialogues ‘The Future We Want’ culminating in the 1.000 Tables Rio+20 “The Call” The Global Game for Social Change

  10. The Process Connect, Envision, Engage, Reflect, and Share The 5 step process became the framework for learning how to envision, co-create, and collaborate for the future that we want. This process is clear, simple, universal, and based on principles of wisdom through which people naturally feel attracted to join, share, and collaborate.

  11. The Team From all over the world individuals and organisations joined to share this initiative in their countries and to support through their networks and connections the emergence of this new way of coming together and co-creating the future and society we want. Join the growing list of networks and organisations that are already part of the Team: The Natural Step International (TNSi), The Art of Hosting (AoH), ELIA – Ecological Living In Action, Master’s on Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability Alumni (MSLSer’s), The Hub, IniciativaMundoEmergente (IMER-Brazil), TV Rio20.com (web-based TV).

  12. What is emerging? Participants of the Global Dialogues have expressed that the power of this process is how it brings forth the emergence of a whole new way of relating and interacting, based on the future they envisioned: “I found it amazing how people regardless of sphere, background, generation, gender, culture or social class could come together and generate such a wide array of ideas and solutions.” “It was so enriching to meet and interact with people who all want to see and act for a change in the way we live. After attending Global Dialogues, I realise that I am not alone. Indeed, even individually I can take small steps that can make a difference and contribute to a sustainable future. “

  13. Why your contribution matters! The Global Dialogues contributes to and will feed into a larger process of decision making and information sharing at a local and global level, and aims to nurture the movement of global citizens who are willing to be the change that is needed for an equitable and prosperous society and future.
