  1. Healthy Prepared Meals When you make the choice to start eating healthy meals, it does not mean you have to deprive yourself of the foods you love to eat. It also does not mean that you have to have any rigid dietary restrictions or lose weight to an unhealthy body weight that is too thin. When you change your diet to become healthier it will improve the overall way you feel—you will have more energy, and your moods will become more stable, over overall health is going to improve. It can appear a little overwhelming, what food is healthy and which is not; every nutritional expert seems to have different opinions on what how to eat healthy and nutritious meals. Eating Healthy Can Improve your Mood It is a well-known fact that a healthy diet helps you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, it also helps you to avoid any potential health issues; but, improving your actual mood? This is not a fact that many, if any, people are aware of. The classic “Western Diet” which is a diet (if you want to call it a diet) full of processed meats, meals that are packaged, fast-food, and snacks filled with sugars—studies have proven that this form of diet is linked to a greater probability for depression, stress, bipolar disorder and anxiety. An unhealthy diet also is linked to such mental disorders as Alzheimer’s and schizophrenia and even an increase in suicide of youths. When you add fresh produce, home-cooked meals, and cut back on the intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates you can actual enhance your moods as well as decrease the chance for developing any mental conditions. If one of these mental conditions already exists with you or a loved one, by starting a health regimen of eating you can control the symptoms of the disorder and achieve a sense of control with your (or their) life once more. What makes up a healthy diet? It does not have to be a complicated, scientific method to achieve eating a healthy diet. The main “rule of thumb” is to start substituting all processed foods with natural foods as much as you possibly can. When you eat your food as naturally as you can, you will notice a difference in the way you look, think, and feel. There is no requirement that you completely cut out some categories of food out of your daily diet; however, you should choose the healthiest food out of each category in the food “pyramid”.

  2. Protein is what we all need to give us the energy required to “get up and go”. Protein is also what is needed to maintain healthy moods and intellectual behavioural. Too much protein is not good for an individual with diabetes or kidney issues and some other conditions. Sources of high- quality protein include: ●Fish ●Poultry ●Dairy products ●Beans ●Nuts and seeds ●Tofu and soy The number one thing to remember when starting a healthy diet is that to eat everything in moderation. Do not set certain foods as being an off-limit food, just if you are going to enjoy something in this category eat a smaller portion of it. Drink plenty of water when you are trying to eat healthier. The body is made up of mostly water, and when you are lacking water in your diet it can result in headaches, lowered energy levels, and a sense of being tired.
