  1. Know the Effects of Drugs for Effective Treatment Being dependant on drugs can affect your life in more ways than you can imagine. The physical effects of drugs can be serious. You can certainly go to a sober living facility to receive treatment to overcome your addiction, but the results usually depend on your determination and the type of drug being used. The thing is that different drugs can affect your body in many different ways, and the effects may also vary from person to person. Your overall health, body size, and the strength and amount of the drug abused will also determine how a drug affects your body. Common Effects of Drugs You are going to experience both short-term and long-term effects of drug abuse. The effects can be psychological and physical as well. After taking a drug for long, you may start to feel differently, act differently, and even think differently as well. The use of drugs will also make it difficult for you to control the way you think and act. The truth is that most people start taking drugs without paying any attention to how it is going to harm their bodies. They think that a drug is not going to affect them because they fall into the category of "casual users". The reality is different though. Even if you start as a casual user, you will not realize when you become so dependent on it that it produces withdrawal symptoms when you try to quit. When you talk about the effects of drugs, you can divide them into three categories. For instance: There are depressants. Certain drugs such as cannabis, alcohol, opiates, GHB, and benzodiazepines are called depressants. They depress or slow down the function of your central nervous system. When taken in small quantities, these drugs may help you feel relaxed. They also help you feel less inhibited. An overdose can cause unconsciousness, vomiting, and even death. These drugs directly affect your coordination and concentration, so you should never operate heavy machinery even if you have taken a smaller dose of these drugs. There are hallucinogens. Cannabis, ketamine, PCP, LSD, and magic mushrooms are some of the drugs in this category. They affect your sense of reality and make you see/hear things that are not there. You also have to deal with psychological and emotional problems, such as panic, jaw clenching, euphoria, nausea, gastric upset, and nausea. There are stimulants. Ecstasy, cocaine, amphetamines, nicotine, and caffeine fall into this category. They stimulate your central nervous system and make you feel alert. However, they can cause problems such as increased body temperature, elevated blood pressure, increased heart rate, sleeplessness, and reduced appetite. Depending on the drug you are taking, you should work with your healthcare provider to select the most appropriate treatment option. In many cases, spending some time in a sober living facility can help you deal with the withdrawal effects of certain drugs. So, be sure to take control of your life and find ways to break your drug addiction! Article Source : http://doctoresdelaalegria.org/know-the-effects-of-drugs-for-effective-treatment.html
