How policy options can be used to foster food security at the subnational, national,regional, and global levels. IIASA has developed an integrated ecological, economic and social policy modeling framework to assess the world food system in the twenty-first century. One of the main components is the agro-ecological zone (AEZ) model developed by the FAO and IIASA.
