  7. Part B We woke up to a white Christmas. It was so cool!!! This was the first white Christmas I’d ever seen. All major roads were closed because of the heavy snow, so we had to stay home for Christmas. Joe, Uncle Royce and I all ran around taking a bunch of pictures. I was so magical. The TV said it was the first time in 100 years. Words cannot express how much I love it! — Eric, Vermont Part A I didn’t get much sleep the night before. I woke up early, got my stocking, ate some candy… looked at my presents. I saw my promised watch wasn’t there, so I looked under the Christmas tree and saw a gift with no name on it. I slightly opened it and found the watch. My dad was shocked when he saw me wearing it when it was supposed to be a surprise. — Rose, London Part C Christmas cards almost always show scenes in the snow. In Australia, Christmas falls in summer. Most of the time, it is blue skies, bright sunshine and temperatures over 25℃. The school summer holidays start a week before Christmas, so most of us seem to be on a beach somewhere. My earliest memories of Christmas are of sand — said in my hair, in my shoes and in my tomato sandwiches. — Kate, Sydney Jigsaw reading: Whole revision • Choose the best sub-title Christmas Gift White Christmas Christmas in Summer 2. Dad said Father Christmas would bring it overnight. ③ Snow is still in the air. We might have to change our travel plan. ④ It’s so hot at Christmas.
