  6. The Authority of the Church • Although the Bible is the basis of all Christian moral decisions, most Christians believe that the Church needs to explain what the Bible means, and what Christians should do about moral issues.

Why does the Church have authority • Church is the Body of Christ. • Most Christians believe that God speaks to the world today through the Church. • The Church is the community of Christians, therefore it must be guided by God. • Christians expect the Church to give them guidance on the Christian life • Catholic’s believe the authority of the Church comes from Magisterium
