Kane Williamson Says Test Mace Is Heavier Than He Thought New Zealand captain Kane Williamson led his team successfully in the World Test Championship title in the recently-concluded final against India in Southampton where they won the rain-affected game by eight wickets and handed India yet another defeat in the ICC tournament as well. Image source by twitter Team India was going good in the final at the end of the fifth day but both Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara’s quick successions early on the final day made all the difference as the New Zealand pacers with their accurate lines and lengths dismissed India for 170 in their second innings. After that, veteran batsman Ross Taylor and Williamson added a match-winning 96-run stand and chased the target of 139 runs with eight wickets in hand. As soon as they won, the captain Kane Williamson revealed his feelings when he lifted the Test mace for the very first time and said that it is heavier than one can think. “I mean we’ve never been able to hold it before so it was a different feeling. It is heavier than you think. We didn’t know it was real till we got our hands on it,” he said in a video uploaded on New Zealand Cricket’s official Twitter page. While speaking about senior players like Ross Taylor and BJ Watling, who has retired from international cricket after the final, Kane Williamson said WTC Final is definitely one of the greatest moments of their careers as well.
