  1. General Printer Problems With Their Solutions

  2. PROBLEM - Printer does not have power indicator SOLUTION - First, make sure that the printer is on. When a printer is on it should have some light or LED indicating it's receiving power. If your printer still does not display a power status indicator, it's likely you are stumble upon a serious printer issue and we suggest contacting the printer manufacturer for additional instructions on repair or replacement.

  3. PROBLEM - Cables not connected properly SOLUTION - Your printer should have two cables connected to it: The power cable and the data cable. Make sure the power and data cables (parallel cable or USB cable) are connected to both the printer and computer.

  4. PROBLEM - No paper or paper jam SOLUTION – 1.) Remove any loose paper in the loading tray. 2.) Press the Resume button on the from of the printer. =>If the paper jam is cleared, move to Ensure the printer carriage can move freely. =>If not, continue to the next step. 3.) Removelodged paper one sheet at a time, starting in the middle. 4.) Check for any remaining bits of paper. =>If the paper jam is cleared, move to Ensure the printer carriage can move freely.

  5. PROBLEM - Inkjet printer ink related issues SOLUTION - Often when you're encountering an ink related issue you're printer status indicator light (mentioned above) should be flashing. If indicator light is flashing then you have to change your cartridges. If light is not blinking then you have to contact your printer manufacturer.

  6. PROBLEM - Printer self tests SOLUTION- Most printers have a way of printing a test page. This page allows you to determine if the printer is physically working or not. This test is usually accomplished by holding down a series of keys. If you are not sure if your printer has this feature or how to perform it refer to your manual or visit your printer manufacturers website.
