New ForestPartnership Intervention Panel 17 September 2008
How we got here • Housing related issues 13+ years ago • Divided We Fall – rolling area meetings, urgent items • Improved Partnership working and big catch up on cases • Operational Joint Action Group • Partnership Intervention Panel
Changes to processes • Requirement to handle data appropriately • Need to know • Acts, case law, guidance • Hampshire Children and Young Persons Info Sharing Protocol • Professionalism • Best Value – not attending meetings for meetings sake
Bedrock of PIP • Early intervention above enforcement • Good, joined up Partnership working • In key cases, single point of contact • Robust and auditable systems • Good results on intervention • Facilitator of Partnership working for crime and anti-social behaviour • Adaptable as required
Information sharing • Difficult to understand in context of partnership working • Not made easier by a plethora of protocols all of which aren’t quite right • Which protocol is the grandparent? • HCC looking to develop a grandparent for at least safer stronger communities (maybe whole LAA) • Until then we are all using many without an accepted grandparent
Context of this day • The bigger picture • Who is doing what and why? • Who can help? • Who is going to get things done • How do we do things together?
What if I am not happy about any of this? • The Partnership is only as good as the strength of working together • So we’ve got something wrong • Let us know – Gary Cooper and Steph Bennett can take a message/action • Or you can come to the ASB Core Group to talk through the issues and changes you feel are needed
The Future • Strong emphasis on safeguarding (children and adults) • Development of CAF to AAF? • Stronger partnership communication and joined up working • Accountability to community
