  3. Benefits • Ensures the continued credibility of National Qualifications • Increases confidence in assessment decisions • Shares knowledge more widely about national standards • Builds long-term capacity • Brings logistical efficiencies and environment benefits • Ease of use by markers

  4. E-marking E-marking system can support the marking of – Marking from Scanned Image (MFI) • short (structured) responses • long (unstructured) responses • objective questions (auto-marking) • specified coursework Marking from Paper (MFP) – marks input

  5. Setting and Monitoring the Standard • Standard exemplified • Markers QA’d prior to starting live marking • Detailed Marker Feedback • Continuous checks • Full visibility of live marking • Supportive • Inbuilt Messaging • Responses marked accurately, to standard by end of marking process

  6. What can you do to assist? • Issue the correct answer booklets • Emphasise to Invigilators need to package in accordance with instructions • Emphasise to candidate use of blue/black ink and need for legible SCN
