Against the defendant: Richard Gerrand Nationality: New Zeland The charge: sexual assault of a minor under duress The Court After hearing the pleading and reading the papers, and after deliberation. Whereas the prosecution charged the defendant /Richard Gerrand on 30/11/2014, in Department of Police station Al Rayyan. by sexual assault the victim/ Eva Jackolyn without coercion, threat or trick, while he knows that she did not reach the age of sixteen, and as indicated in the papers. And requested that he be punished according to the provision of the article (287/1) of the penal code, number 11 of the year 2004. And whereas the facts of the case, as determined by the court's certainty, and assurance, that is drawn from the case papers, and the investigations that have been carried out therein, and the proceedings of the trial hearing. concluded that the seven-years-old victim while she was sleeping over in the defendant house- a friend of the family, the defendant came to her while she was sleeping, took down her pants and licked her vagina for three times, she cried, he asked her then to shut up, then she got afraid. And whereas the incident as stated above, the evidence authenticity been proven and confirmed on the defendant Richard Gerrand by the testimony of the mother of the victim Carol Janis Peterson through public Prosecution investigations. 1

And whereas in the area of estimating the punishment, the court put in its consideration; the type of the crime that has been made and its effect on the society and its surrounding circumstances and occasions, and then uses its established right in article 92/3 of code of criminal and punish the defendant by Imprisonment penalty for a period of one year. And whereas the court decided to Imprisonment the defendant in a felony case, accordingly, to remove him from the country, working on that based on the article (77) of penal code. For these reasons The Court has ruled in the presence of the defendant: Imprisonment the defendant Richard Gerrand for one year for the charge assigned to him and to be removed from the country after the completion of the sentence or after being dropped. The verdict was made and read out in public in today's session: 30/4/2015 under the name of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.
