Germany: DLR (Oberpfaffenhofen): Test host unresponsive since July '99 Route via Geant, DFN Eumetsat (Darmstadt) New route June '02: MFN to Darmstadt (previously KPNQwest) Performance improved: BHMedian = 2.4 mbps, typical range = 0.6 to 3.3 mbps Previously BHMedian = 500 kbps, typical range = 0.1 to 1.7 mbps Site Update - Germany

ESRIN - Frascati: Performance stable BHM from GSFC stable at 700 kbps; Typical daily range 300-1700 kbps Route stable: via MAX, Abilene to NY, Geant, GARR From Norway (until March '02): 350 kbps -1.1 mbps via UNInet, Nordunet, Geant, GARR Testing from NASDA (until Jan '02): 190-730 kbps – restarted Sept.   12. JRC - Ispra: Testing restarted Feb '01 BH Median about 500 kbps, Typical Range 150-800 kbps (range was 400- 1400 in '00) Route: UUNet all the way from DC to Milan. From NASDA (until Jan '02): steady 350 kbps Site Updates: Italy (2)

  13. NASDA EOC - Hatoyama: NASA-NASDA removed private E1 and installed private 3 mbps ATM service in Feb '00 -- for mission support only. (Replaced Aug '02) NASDA to NASA stable – typically 1.6 mbps (window limited) NASA to NASDA Performance also stable typically 2.3 mbps using multiple TCP streams to overcome window limitation NASDA CEOS source and sink at EOC down since 17 Jan '02 Restored 1 Sept. '02 Tokyo-XP From GSFC: via Chicago / TransPac / APAN several performance levels: 12-29 mbps, 9-15 mbps Slow TCP rampup from GISTDA: 0.5-1.4 mbps steady Site Updates: Japan

  14. KNMI: Route from GSFC via Abilene to SurfNet in Chicago Median Performance now 60 mbps! (range 43-67 mbps) Using multiple TCP streams Site Update - Netherlands

IRE-RAS - Moscow: Last Tested Oct - Dec ‘00 Route is via Internet -- Rostelecom in NY Performance was BHM = 75 kbps, Daily range = 13 - 30 kbps CAO - Moscow: SAGE III Project Dual Routes since Nov '01 NASA dedicated circuit: very steady 140kbps via NY to Rostelecom/RBnet -- 1.1 mbps typ (600-1400) Site Updates - Russia

'02 UNINET via Abilene peering in LA: Datasink restored 27 August '02 200 kbps - 2.2 mbps, BHM = 400 kbps -- serious daily congestion Site Updates: Thailand

From GSFC: via Abilene to JAnet in NY JAnet core (London): Stable at 18 mbps Was stable at 28 mbps from 6 Nov '01 to 13 June '02 Was 10 mbps until 19 Aug '01 NY peering reconfigured again UCL: 4.7-6.2 mbps steady (previously 2.8-4.9 mbps) Oxford: 4.8 mbps typ (3.6-5.2) -- also steady! RAL: performance dropped to in June '02 Now 8 mbps typical (2-14 mbps) Was 14 mbps typical (7-20) Site Updates: UK
