  3. Igneous Rocks • Igneous rocks are rocks that are formed when melted rock cools and hardens. • Here are some types of igneous rocks: Rhyolite, Obsidian, and Basalt.

  4. Metamorphic Rocks • Metamorphic rocks are heated by the high temperatures at great depths. • One example of a metamorphic rock is slate. • Great heat and pressure can change one rock to another type of rock.
