  1. About Shanghai.

  2. Shanghai - China's largest city and one of the largest in terms of populationcities in the world. Located in the Yangtze River Delta in eastern China. One of the four municipalities of the PRC, important financial and cultural center of the country, as well as the world's largest sea port. • Shanghai has a humid subtropical climate with monsoon features. What such Shanghai?

  3. Name. The first of the two characters, which is written the name of the city, has a value of "top“ or " enter", the second character - the "sea".

  4. Administrative divisions. Shanghai is divided into 19 county-level units: 18 districts and one county.   In Shanghai, there is no single urban center, functionally itself is divided between several areas.

  5. Religion. According to a 2012 survey only around 13% of the population of Shanghai belongs to organised religions , the largest groups being Buddhists with 10.4%, followed by Protestants with 1.9%, Catholics with 0.7% and other faiths with 0.1%. Around 87% of the population is non religious or partakes to traditional folk religions, Taoist rites, worship of gods and ancestors.

  6. Museums.   The Shanghai Museum, located in People's Square Shanghai boasts several museums of regional and national   importance. The Shanghai Museum of art and history has one of the best collections of Chinese historical artifacts in the world.
