  4. Test the connection Now that the console is connected to the Internet, test the connection to Xbox LIVE. The steps for testing the connection vary slightly, depending on the console software. ​​My Screen looks like this:

  5. Follow these steps: • On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings. • Select Network Settings. • Select Wired Network. • Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection. Once you successfully connect to Xbox LIVE, the screen looks like this:

  8. How to reset the network settings Reset the network settings on the Xbox 360 console to the defaults. Here's how: 1. On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.

  9. 2. Select Network Settings. 3.Select Configure Network.

  10. Move right on the D-pad to access the Additional Settings tab and select Restore to Factory Defaults. Select Yes, restore to factory defaults when prompted. Note  This will only reset the network settings and not other console settings.

  11. Restart the console. • Go back to My Xbox, and then select System Settings. • Select Network Settings. • Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.If this solution worked, you'll see this screen: • Choose Yes if you are asked to update the console software.
