  2. The definition of Asteroid • rocky object orbiting Sun: an irregularly shaped rock that orbits the Sun, mostly occurring in a band asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. 

  3. The Asteroid Belt The Asteroid belt separates the inner planets from the outer Planets.

What are Asteroids There are millions of asteroids, and like most other small Solar System bodies the asteroids are thought to be remnants of planetesimals, material within the young Sun’s Asteroids are sometimes called a planetoid. They are mainly in the asteroid belt. There are many asteroids in our solar system. Some asteroids are bundled in asteroid belts. Also, Asteroids are scattered throughout our solar system.

  5. The main Asteroid belt The asteroid belt is the region of the Solar System located roughly between the orbits of the planets Mars and Jupiter. It is occupied by numerous irregularly shaped bodies called asteroids or minor planets. The asteroid belt region is also called the main asteroid belt or main belt. It is called that because there are other asteroids in the solar system, such as near earth asteroids and Trojan asteroids.
