Full-time staff roles • Danny Fisher Executive director : Oversee Pacesetter soccer club • Greg Acuna Asst. executive director/Boys u13-u19 : Oversee Boys u13-U19 Teams & Coaches • Ella gonia U13-u19 Girls Director of Coaching: oversee all girls u13-u19 Teams & Coaches • Carl Francazio U7-12 Boys director of coaching: oversee all u7-u12 boys teams/coaches and academy • Dan evans u7-u12 girls director of coaching: oversee all u7-u12 girls teams/coaches and academy • Kendra DUVALL finance director: oversee all finances/payments/accounts • Abbey mock Club administrator: oversee all admin & team managers

Coaching staff & manager duties • Team coaches U8-U18: oversee all team aspects – technical / tactical / physical / psychological, first point of contact regarding team issues & WORK CLOSELY WITH PROGRAM DOC’S • team managers U8-U18: managers are the link between coach and team, help relay communication, help register teams for tournaments (please be sure to check with doc on correct placement of teams!)

Pacesetter over the last 12 months • Oysan awards • U17 girls team competed youth soccer nationals and national league • U16 girls accepted into national league • Boys ecnl acceptance • Girls u15-u19 accepted in us youth soccer club v club league • high retention rate of club players • Record numbers at tryouts • Toledo villa fc partnership to help development of college players • TOP COLLEGE SHOWCASE acceptances • PLAYERS HAVE GONE ON TO PLAY IN COLLEGE AT ALL LEVELS so we are developing • Byproduct of development is: Several STATE/TOURNAMENTS/league, championships

Chain of command / questions / concerns • Step 1: go to the head coach of your team • step 2: GO TO YOUR PROGRAM DIRECTOR • step 3: GO TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR • AS A STAFF WE MEET WEEKLY TO DISCUSS ALL ASPECTS OF THE CLUB • Anything administrative related, please go to abbey mock • Anything FINANCIALLY related, please go to KENDRA DUVAL

Reasons for chain of command • Coaches are trusted & empowered to coach, select and operate teams • Like a High School Coach our coaches are paid to pick and run our teams and decide playing time and starters • 50 Teams & 700 players, Academy of 500 players (1200 approximate players in the club) • Camps and Outreach programs • Tournament PSI • College Counseling • Winter leagues • Coaching education • Biggest Club in Ohio North and now a multi-million dollar organization. • WE HAVE A GREAT FULL TIME STAFF, WE TRUST, ENCOURAGE & EMPOWER THEM IN THEIR CAREER

Our coaching staff • All qualified to league requirements with licensure • All have completed concussion policy and background checks • Energetic willing to learn • Very happy with this years staff. For this area there is no better • If they are new to your team give them a chance every coach has a different way of doing things may be different than previous coach but does not mean its wrong • Every coach is given 2-3 evaluations each year • Many College and High School Coaches • None of our coaches are perfect and they will make mistakes

  11. Development (NOT ALL ABOUT WINNING) • Not all about the winning. IF WE DEVELOP PROPERLY THEN WE WILL BE SUCCESSFUL LONG TERM • Developing good citizens & people not just soccer players • Developing bigger picture qualities such as team work, life skills, balancing success & failure • Club curriculum U8-18 that is forever evolving AVFC Prospectus. • Players also Need to work at home by themselves or with friends 10,000 hour rule (homework on website) • Parents need to help support coaches at home. You have a huge influence on their development • 4/5 developmental pillars of the game Technical / Tactical / Physical / Psychological / lifestyle • SOME EXCELLENT people HAVE COME THROUGH OUR CLUB & WE ARE also Producing some good players Camden & Zach buescher, evan lee, aerin west, dani JOHNSON, ALYSSA HIENTSCHEL, CHLOE BUEHLER, adam montague Our Club has been good enough for them…It is good enough for you

Development ctd. • Don’t expect an 11 year to do what a 18 year old can do (can they do college algebra?) • Club structure and curriculum in order to get into leagues • Encourage Coaches to have a periodization plan in place • DOC’s/Mentors in place to provide an extra set of eyes. • Coaches may be evaluated by the league • Players can be moved up or down based on performance/attitude/effort etc. • We may be given an annual Review with USYSA to evaluate entire club

  13. Sideline behavior - parents • Keep in mind, youth sports should be fun and developmental. • Parents are asked to sign a code of conduct – please follow it! • Honor the 24-hour rule. This includes texts, emails, phone calls • Parents are the best ambassadors for the club • Do not socialize with the coaching staff

  14. Sideline behavior – parents cont’d • Players Play/Coaches Coach/Refs Ref/Parents cheer and Support! • THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN. OUR KIDS ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES • No Coaching from sidelines! Do not go to the coaching side of the field. • Please don’t HOVER AROUND your child’s training sessions; LET THEM ENJOY THIS EXPERIENCE. drop off and, if anything, watch from a distance. LIKE SCHOOL PARETS DON’T SIT IN THE CLASSROOM. • No shouting at officials… without officials there is no game !!! • Respect the other teams players, parents and officials • As coaches we do not see or hear everything……you can help address things too • Don’t talk about other peoples’ kids. • Encourage your child and their team mates. mistakes happen, they are still learning • DON’T PAY YOUR KIDS TO SCORE GOALS!

Sideline behavior – coaching staff • Coaches sign a Code of Conduct and contract which they should follow • Coaches should be on their best behavior and serve as a good Ambassador to PSC • Coaches are prohibited from Socializing with parents. Team dinners are OK, but we do not condone coaches drinking with parents. Relationships should be strictly professional • Coaches should not talk about other players and Children to Parents • pSC Does not encourage private lessons. Coaches should not be Soliciting private lessons • Coaches should not give or take a ride WITH any players/families. Keep things professional • Coaches should not engage in any offensive, insulting or abusive language, and behavior • Coaches should be at games 45 minutes prior to kick off. In some cases DOCS will cover • Coaches should send a weekly email to their teams and an agenda out for tournaments

Content is always great! • Communication on : Twitter, Facebook, website, email • Any training changes, cancellations or news will be on Twitter, Facebook, Website and emailed (if you don’t sign up you will not be updated)

  19. communication • Check Pacesetter Website, Twitter and Facebook pages for news • Check Emails regularly as things can change no matter how organized we think we are Please read your emails thoroughly to help managers/Coaches • Team managers have an email list make sure you are on it • Read emails from coaches/managers/DOCS and Administrator • Coaches should give you a player Eval at the end of the fall and spring seasons • If you don’t attend meetings, join social media, check emails etc. then you may miss out!

  20. HELPFUL Hints • Bring everything to training shin pads/water/ball/running shoes etc. • Attendance at games and training is expected. If you don’t attend playing time will be reflected! • Wear grey t-shirts, black shorts and black socks for practice (warm-up/hoodie when cold) • Be on time for training let coach know if you are running late (things happen) • please drop off and watch from a distance • Coaches should send out an agenda for tournaments but again 45 mins before • No Heading from U11 down in all leagues • Locations BCTF Sylvania Metamora Rd/ MRE Back of the Park Coaches will be there • GK training TBD and will not begin until after Labor Day • Don’t wait until the end of the season if there is an issue. Ask questions!
