  2. Christmas in Ireland! Facts Irish Flag • Christmas in Ireland is celebrated on the 25th of December. Some people decorate there houses with outdoor lights and blow up Santa's! On Christmas day children wake up early and open there presents from Santa. This is the biggest event in the year!

  3. Christmas in America! Facts! American Flag • The Dutch knew St. Nicholas as Sintaklaas. When they immigrated to United States in the 17th century, they took the traditions of St Nicholas with them. However, it was in 1809 that Washington Irving introduced St. Nicholas in his novel with his original description. He smoked a pipe and flew around the world in his wagon (with no reindeers) and gave presents to children every year.

  4. Christmas in Japan! Facts! Japanese Flag! • Christmas in Japan is different from western countries like the USA or Australia. The major religions in Japan are Buddhism and Shinto, so Christmas is more commercial event. The main celebration revolves around Christmas eve and not Christmas day.
