  4. VOCABULARY Allegory- an extended metaphor. Sullenly- silent resentment Careen- to sway to one side while in motion Imminent- likely to happen soon. Infallibility- condition of not being likely to fool. Iridescent- a surface that changes color depending on the angle. (ex: a bubble) Doggedness- sticking to an opinion. Precariously- insecurely. Heresy- an idea opposed to the beliefs of a religion
