  2. Taken The first trailer I decided to study was Taken. The first few shots are images of a girl with her dad, this immediately builds a relationship and shows the audience how close they are and gives the idea he would do anything for her. They are pretty simple straight forward shots which I think I can easily portray myself in my own trailer.

  3. I like the effect of the camera flashing and it fading into the first set of credits to give a nice link in-between events. This makes the trailer flow nicely and makes the story understandable.

  4. The trailer aslo included lots of fast moving images one after another, each one includind two different images, one of what is happening and another of the reaction. I think this is a really good effect as the close up shots show everything whats going on, you can see the emotion in the characters and really try to understand how they are feeling.

  5. The last few shots are taken from all the way through the film of what is going to happen, while this is being shown there is a voice over of the girls dad saying to someone on the phone what he is going to do if he does not get his daughter back. I think this is a really good effect at the same time as having Shots of everything that is happening to her to give the audience a sense of the kind of tone and feel the film gives. I will try to influence this upon my trailer as I think it is a really good technique of making a successful trailer.

  6. Man on fire The first few shots of the Man on fire trailer are establishing shots, they let the audience know where, what, who and why all in the first few seconds. I think this is a very good convention which all trailers should have include as it engaged me straight away, like the taken trailer this also had a voice over to explain what was going on, it made it quite obvious what was happening
