Warm-Up • Work in pairsAnswer the questions using adverbs of frequency: • 100% Always UsuallySometimesHardly ever Never 0% • Greet each other and ask how the person is doing • Student A: How often do you go shopping? • Student B: ... / How often do you check you e-mail? • Student A: ... / How often do you go for a run? • Student B: ... / How often do you cook dinner? • Student A: ... / How often do you go out to eat? • Student B: ... / How often do you talk on the phone?

  3. Let’s Learn! • Another way to say often you do an activity is by using:… times a day/a week/a month/a year • For example: • How often do you check you e-mail? • I check my e-mail 4 or 5 times a day. How about you?

  4. Pay attention! • We use these two words do say “one time” and “two times: • one time = ONCE • two times = TWICE • For example: • How often do you check you e-mail? • I check my e-mail twice a day. How about you?

Let’s Practice • Work in pairsAnswer the questions using once, twice, 3 times, 4 times a DAY/a WEEK/a MONTH/a YEAR • Student A: How often do you go the grocery store? • Student B: How often do you travel? • Student A: How often do you go to the gym? • Student B: How often do you have English class? • Student A: How often do you go on vacation? • Student B: How often do you take a shower? • Student A: How often do you drink coffee? • Student B: How often do you call your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend? • Then, switch: student B starts and student A continues.

  15. Let’s Practice a Little More • Working with another student, write 4 WH-quesitons. Each student should have a copy of the questions. • Now, using the questions you have, interview another person.
