  3. The Programme • Grassroots Grants - VAL • Endowment Match Challenge - LLRCF

  4. Small Grants • Voluntary and Community Groups • Average income of less than £30,000 over last 3 years • Groups working in and for the benefit of people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland • Minimum grant of £250 Maximum of £5,000 • From now to 31st March 2011

  5. Small Grants • No specific priority groups • Up to 2 years Funding • New or Existing Work • Maximum of £5,000 per group • Active for at least 12 months prior to December 2008 - Referees • Full Cost Recovery

  7. Types of projects • The purchase of equipment • Costs of putting on a local event • Employing sessional staff • Costs for attending training • Training for Volunteers • Additional activities to expand an existing project

  8. Types of projects • The costs of attending a conference or event • Contribution to rent costs (relating to activities/service delivery) • Activities that support community activity • Activities that meet an identified need in the local community

  9. Progress to Date • Overall 256 applications for funding were received assessed and reviewed by the assessment panels. • 86 from Leicester City groups • 160 from Leicestershire groups • 10 from Rutland groups

  10. Progress to Date • £553,765.42 awarded to 147 small Voluntary and Community Groups • £339,876.34 awarded to 92 groups in Leicestershire - 58% success rate • £191,826.93 awarded to 48 Leicester City Groups - 56% success rate • £22,062.15 awarded to 7 groups in Rutland - 70% success rate
